      Devops Engineer Interview

      9 June 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Tallinn
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Twilio (Tallinn) in Jan 2022

      Interview

Process had multiple steps with various people and goals. The recruiter was super helpful and they provide you with all the necessary guides and documents to succeed. I do recommend reading these and preparing yourself in general (also on coding if applicable). The interviews took place on 2 days for me, but if I remember correctly, usually they try to do all of these on the same day. 1. Application review process. 2. Half an hour interview with the recruiter/HR person. The following steps will depend on the schedule of people who conduct the interviews, so i guess the order can differ for every person and between teams you are applying for, but basically: 3. There will be an interview with the hiring manager. 4. I had another interview with the Program Manager 5. and 6. Coding assessments, for me this was on HackerRank. Both with different engineers from the team I was applying to. Coding was during the interviews. Nothing too complicated if you have some experience under the hood, one was more about algorithms, the other about architecture and also included drawing a chart to describe an API and any components it is connected to. 7. Bar Raiser - this interview is mainly for you to understand the company and its culture and them getting to know you as a person - how friendly you are, how helpful etc. so it is very much about your communication skills. The person interviewing me was not from the hiring team. They assess different values here and call these the Twilio Magic Values. You can also find these on the Twilio website when you Google this. 8. Quick call with the recruiter/HR to also give your feedback on the interviews. You can also give your input ahead of time for when they discuss your results, in case you understand that some parts might have gone bad. I don't remember correctly but I think there was a possibility to request to even re-do a specific interview if you felt it went very bad or there was some communication problems with the person interviewing you. Overall, even though the hiring process had numerous steps, it all happened quite fast and the interviews were polished/well structured. My interviews were on Monday and Tuesday and by Friday I already got an offer, which I accepted.

Round 1: Speak to recruiter by phone ( Personality check) Round 2: Technical test (HackerRank style questions), hear back from recruiter Round 3: Spoke to the hiring manager Round 4: All day 5-round interview with different people throughout the company Very slow process, after all that heard back from the recruiter to wait for a response twice in 6 weeks & was then told they went with an internal candidate.
