Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Interview

      12 Dec 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Two Chairs (Los Angeles, CA) in Nov 2021

      Interview

Excessively complicated process. They had multiple conversations with me that ultimately went nowhere. The recruiter seemed tone deaf to my disinterest and continued to push me to interview with one of their CDs. I was chastised by the recruiter for asking for clarification on compensation which was quoted as a high end around 70k. (My current employer pays significantly more than that, plus benefits). It would seem that they feel their key selling points as an employer is that they have some opportunities for time off, they pay a salary, and they encourage the development of “company culture” like they are a tech company. Ultimately the whole process cost me a week worth of lunch hours, and ended with being completely ghosted. I would not recommend no matter how many company yoga classes they promise to let you attend.

      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Two Chairs

      Interview

The whole process was very professional! I was contacted by a recruiter who then set up a call with somebody in HR. That person gave me a call and explain the job/position and answered all the questions I had. At the time interview happened, I wasn’t quite ready to leave my private practice so I didn’t proceed with next steps. However, I was very impressed with the way they seem to be transparent and handled all of my questions.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They asked me what my specialty area was, and what type of clients I was interested in seeing. They asked me what my theoretical orientation was and what types of tools/interventions are used with clients. They also asked me if I prefer to work in office or remote.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Two Chairs (Los Angeles, CA) in July 2021

      Interview

Recruiter call/screening, then a follow up interview with recruiter, followed by a second interview with clinical team. Was not contacted after the second interview. The recruiter was very hands-on and walked you through every question you’d be asked so you would not be caught off guard. I was turned off by the lack of professionalism of not following up with a concrete reason for being not offered a position, despite both recruiter and interviewer being impressed with my qualifications and experience and asking about details of potential start date and other logistics. My assumption is that I got “forgotten about.” The same recruiter has reached out to me on multiple platforms since then trying to get me to apply to other positions (including the one I had already applied to) as if I was a stranger. They can’t even keep track of who has already been contacted.
