I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at UBS (New York, NY) in Jan 2011
Interview
I bid for the interview. The recruiter sent an email the night before the interview day saying that we would get the results of the interview that same day by 5pm. Those who passed the 1st round would be invited to dinner and the final round would occur the next day.
Compared to other companies, I thought the immediate notice was very respectful and convenient.
My interviewer was not nice at all...She never smiled, and she looked at me like I was dirt on her shoe.
At some points, when I was getting close to an answer but I didn't quite grasp it, she tried to help me with my logic.
The interview was probably 70% technical, 30% behavioral.
Interview questions [5]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself and why you chose these specific experiences to put on your resume.
Your team has 4 members. You have a meeting in 17 min that you must not be late for. You have to cross a bridge to get to the meeting on the other side. Only 2 can cross at a time. It is very dark and you only have one flashlight. The members on your team can cross the bridge in 1, 2, 5, and 10 minutes. How can you get everyone cross in 17 min?
The process consisted of a Hirevue type interview, then superday with mix of standard technicals with more senior members of the team, had to discuss company / news I found interesting
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Standard technical questions, behavioral with more senior bankers
Applied and got an email for a HireVue. They gave 7 days to complete it. It was very straightforward and easy. Just like other HireVues and not too many questions. Not the hardest questions in the world but not the easiest. Just an average experience.
I applied through university. I interviewed at UBS in Sept 2025
Interview
Standard technical questions, tell me about yourself, where you see yourself in 5 years, pitch a stock, walk through a deal you’ve done, time to ask them questions. Some of the ppl can obviously look checked out so don’t take it personally.
