I applied online. I interviewed at UNHCR (Seoul) in Mar 2026
Interview
The interview was conducted by three Korean interviewers in a mix of Korean and English. Based on my impression, the working environment did not seem as international as I had expected, and it did not appear to be a workplace where English is used very actively.
The questions themselves were not too difficult, as they were mostly based on my previous experience. However, the interview style was quite direct and straightforward. I was a little surprised by the way they asked about my background, as they seemed to imply that they would verify the experiences I mentioned right away. Overall, the interview felt more formal and fact-checking oriented than conversational.

Question 1
Do you genuinely believe that social media can bring about positive change? Why do you think so?
The External Relations Officer and outgoing intern video interviewed me online to ascertain my reasons for applying and to hear any questions I had about the role's duties and responsibilities.
You apply online and have to provide three documents: a filled UNHCR personal history form, a CV and cover letter. An automated message then signals that the application has been well received.
