I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at US Marine Corps in July 2009
Interview
You walk into the recruiter's office. They show you some videos and other promotional materials and ask what do you know about the Marine Corps. They show you available jobs and you pick them, take your ASVAB test and that shows what you qualify for. Once you qualify and pass all background checks/ drug checks, you sign the contract ( 8 years minimum) and ship off to boot camp.
The interview consists of you walking into the recruiters office and you telling them that you want an aircrew contract. After that you have to score high enough on the ASVAB.
