      Assistant Professor of Pathology Interview

      7 July 2012

      Lahore
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at UVAS (Lahore) in Apr 2012

      Interview

I applied for this post (Assistant Professor of Pathology on TTS) in December 2011. A call letter was sent to my residential address as I had given in the application. It was March, 2012. The day I received the call letter, I also received a telephonic call from a number of the Office of the Registrar of the said university. Few questions relevant to professional skills were asked on the telephonic interview. It was confirmed that I had been called for a presentation before the Faculty and Professional Students of the said university. Next week I reached the said university. It was at a drive of about 3 hour from my residence. I reached right at time (9:00am) in the University Lecture Hall and delivered my presentation. My presentation was appreciated with clapping. I was happy and returned home. In the month of April, I received a call letter to appear before the Selection Panel for interview. The day I received the call letter, I also received a telephonic call from the Office of the Registrar of the said university. Few questions were asked about my personal identity and background. It was confirmed that I had been called for interview against the post of AP Pathology-TTS in the Vice Chancellor's Secretariat. On the day of interview in the next week, I reached Vice Chancellor's Secretariat of the said University. I was seated in the waiting room. Water was served to me and I drank. After a while, I felt abnormal, but kept it hidden. I was feeling difficulty in speaking and no one was likely to listen to me as I was apparently healthy. After about 15 minutes, I was asked to appear before the Selection Panel for interview. at this time, water was again offered to me, but I did not drink it. I entered the room where Selection Panel has gathered for interviews and I tried to tell the interviewers about the incidence, but in vain. I tried to count the interviewers but they were asking questions very swiftly and could not confirm exact count. However they were more than half a dozen and less than a dozen. I could recognize only the VC as he was my Facebook friend. Other interviewers were either unknown to me or i have just seen their photographs on some websites. I answered a few questions very hardly as it had became very difficult for me to speak after drinking water offered by a person in the Office of the Vice Chancellor's Secretariat of the said university. However, the interviewers were very efficient and assessed my professional skills and personality traits through short questioning and answering. This interview took about half an hour. At the end of interview, the interviewers raised a gentle laughter and thanked me. I, then, left the room of interviewers and asked from the office whether there was some other process or not and they told me that I had completed the interview process and could left the university. Thus I came back to my home. I could not file any inquiry against any person as I had no proof of the incidence (water poisoniong). I am still waiting for the response from the Selection Panel of the said university.
