This was easily one of the most disappointing interview experience in my entire career. First, the actual duty did not quite align with the JD, the main duties were not stated or emphasized enough and was extremely misleading. Second, the interviewer not only showed up late but was condescending and disrespectful. He low key told me that I wasn't the kind of candidate he was looking for because of my background. I'm not sure why he didn't reject me in the first place and waste both of our time instead... Hope the company finds a good candidate but the HM has a lot to figure out first.
Overall, the HM's unpreparedness for this hiring process doesn't reflect well for the rest of the company.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Ultima Genomics
Interview
Interviewed and was eventually hired. The process was straight forward, slow to respond. I interviewed with 5 different people across different teams, and had multiple rounds. They took a while to respond, which I've found was common for other hires at the time.
3 rounds - initial interview with the hiring manager (asked basic biology questions), in person panel interview (behavioral), video interview with the team director (mix of technical + behavioral) . The entire process took about 1.5-2 months
