I interviewed at Union of Concerned Scientists (Washington, DC)
Interview
It started with an automated screening call with timed questions and answer periods -- maybe 60 seconds each, with 30 seconds prep time to think after the question was asked -- and then an in-person interview with a three-person panel and a writing test afterward.

Question 1
I don't remember exact wording, but something to the effect of, "Can you discuss the most innovative analytical tool or approach you took to answer a hard question?"
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Union of Concerned Scientists
Interview
I can't believe how long and uncommunicative this process was. It would take weeks between interviews, with no information received between them. The interviews themselves were interesting and telling (with a wide range of questions asked), but the process as a whole was beyond painful. For an organization to describe itself as working towards becoming anti-racist and then take 5 months to hand out a rejection...it was hard to stomach that. And then a form rejection at the end. Ouch.

Question 1
How would you describe comparative advantage to a lay person?
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Union of Concerned Scientists in Nov 2023
Interview
I applied on a Friday, was called on Monday, and interviewed a week later, second interview the following week. At the end of the second interview I was told that I would hear about next steps the following week. Sounds great, right? That was mid-December. Its now February. Not only have not gotten back to me, but they don't even return my emails.

Standard interview questions that one would find with a Google search. Nothing to indicate that interviewer had prepared.
