I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at United Rentals (Austin, TX) in Sept 2016
Interview
I had previously done the same role for Hertz Equipment Rental, so the interview was basically a breeze. When i called to check on the opening, the manager happened to have my resume in his hand, which was odd and clearly to my advantage. I was able to push my way into a brief interview over the phone at that point. After i went into the interview, it was clear that i knew my way around the position.

Question 1
If a customer comes in with his own trailer, do you load the equipment on his trailer or do you have him load it?
I interviewed at United Rentals (South Holland, IL)
Interview
The first step 30 minute introduction by phone. At least for me, this was not scheduled but rather a call I received a few days after submitting the application. After the call, I was invited to an in person interview with the Site manager for the fluids division
I went in person to give my resume. The interview was simple and short. It was one interview. Nothing too crazy. There was a phone interview but I skipped that and went straight in person.

Question 1
Why do you want to work here or something like that
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at United Rentals in June 2025
Interview
Panel type interview with 3 people. Too many questions and it lasted an hour with each person taking turns. Just a little bit of conversation style talk. Once it was over, all that was said was that's all we have right now. No thank yous, no mention of next steps, no anything.

Tell me about yourself. What makes you the best fit for this job. Etc.
