I applied online. I interviewed at United Rentals (Columbus, OH) in Oct 2014
Interview
Good interview - I liked the manager and thought he and I would be a good fit to work together on an ongoing basis. After he offered me the job and pay was negotiated I was told to go to a different place to train and was told two days later that he (my manager) had quit. When I was sent back to my true location there was someone charge who had no management experience. He was a last man standing grease monkey who used bad language, had frequent outbursts of temperature and smoked in the workplace.

Question 1
They were very concerned about how I would handle stress which I appreciated.
I interviewed at United Rentals (South Holland, IL)
Interview
The first step 30 minute introduction by phone. At least for me, this was not scheduled but rather a call I received a few days after submitting the application. After the call, I was invited to an in person interview with the Site manager for the fluids division
I went in person to give my resume. The interview was simple and short. It was one interview. Nothing too crazy. There was a phone interview but I skipped that and went straight in person.

Question 1
Why do you want to work here or something like that
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at United Rentals in June 2025
Interview
Panel type interview with 3 people. Too many questions and it lasted an hour with each person taking turns. Just a little bit of conversation style talk. Once it was over, all that was said was that's all we have right now. No thank yous, no mention of next steps, no anything.
