The phone interview was typical as other companies do. Yet I can help to think that they are trying to hide something or whatnot. They were not clear on my questions.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM) (Pontiac, MI) in Sept 2025
Interview
Interview, for the 1st 4 mins went smooth, until I was asked about the pay range I was looking for. I replied I’m not sure what the pay range for this position is (many websites have it between $69k-$103k). The interviewer then replies with “that’s okay, we determine that after we assess your skills.” After there was about a 5-7 sec moment of silence, they tried to carry on. I interrupted them and said “no, no I’m not okay with that! Have a good day, click!”
Why? Why can’t you just divulge the information so we’re not wasting our time. Fair and transparent pay information is needed. Not what happened above or, the pay range of $55,000-$102,000 (thanks bullseye company!). Give an accurate pay range in the job requisition when posting it. People are looking for jobs to live off of and don’t have the time for BS.
