      Site Reliability Engineer Interview

      2 Aug 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Unity in June 2021

      Interview

I was contacted by the recruiter a couple of days after I applied. The first round was a video call with the recruiter wherein they explain more about the role and my skills. They also asked a few behavioural questions to know how I'd tackle some of the problems, some questions regarding my own goals and what I wanted to do. They had given an estimate of the salary in the first round itself so that there are no surprises later on. The round after that was with the hiring manager and it was really good. Then I was given an assignment that contained a questionnaire and two problems to be solved using js. I submitted that within a week and had a good feeling about it but was rejected after that. The questionnaire was subjective and they were expecting that a few keywords be present. They had given a pretty elaborate feedback regarding some of the answers that could have been answered better and I appreciate it a lot. A tip: Be as elaborate as possible and use correct terminologies in the descriptive answers for the assignment.

      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Unity (Helsinki, Southern Finland) in Nov 2019

      Interview

Hiring process was very professional, from the initial email, through several interviews, phone calls, until arranging the onboarding schedule. I was all the time kept up to date on where we are at the hiring process and what the next steps would be. Interviews were very relaxed and were more of a conversation around different technical areas rather than a question / answer format. People I interacted with seemed to put equal importance into soft skills.
