I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Universal Electronics (San Mateo, CA) in Feb 2018
Interview
I had one telephone interview, two rounds of on-site interviews and one more telephone interview. The first and the last telephone interview was with the hiring manager. It was about an hour long and we went over my background and one coding problem. It was a fairly easy problem and the hiring manager gave a good overview of the responsibilities of the role.
A week later I was invited for an on-site interview. The interview was for about 2.5 hours and with 3 interviewers. The first interviewer just handed me a sheet of paper with 3 programmatic questions and a few sheets of paper for me to write programs and left the room, which I thought was weird. All three problems were leetcode medium level problems. He returned about half an hour later and I had just finished one of them. Then he asked me about one of the other problems and I explained the logic. By then he said time was up and left. The next interviewer asked me about my background and experience. He gave a bit more information about the role and what they were looking for in the applicant. About half an hour into the second interview the third interviewer also came into the room and from then on it was 2 on 1 interview for the next hour or so. The third interviewer asked me a few basic C++ and C coding/logic problems - debug the given program, determine the output of the program, etc. Then they discussed a little more about my background and experience as well.
About 2 days later I was invited for another round of on-site interview with the VP since he was not available the first day I interviewed. This was another hour long interview and he asked me questions about my background, experience and also a coding question which was fairly easy. Later the same day I had a telephone interview scheduled with the hiring manager again and he offered me the job.

Interview
Inadequately prepared interviewers with absolute disrespect for the candidate. No one knew the position I am being interviewed. Unwelcoming place. The interviewers are inept being stagnant in the company perennially.
