I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at University College London Hospitals (London, England) in Dec 2020
Interview
Received a Zoom invitation with the names of the panel members (4 of them). Once joined, they didn't even introduce themselves and jumped straight to the scenario-based questions; they each asked 2-3 questions. After every answer they just moved on to the next questions. I also had to do a test consisting of entering data from source documents to CRF. The entire interview seemed forced, unpleasant (they were unfriendly, no one smiled throughout the 20 minutes) and overall it was a bad experience.

Question 1
You are with a patient who has fainted and the courier comes at the same time to collect the tissue samples. You are alone; how do you deal with this?

Interview
There were 2 parts. One is assessment based on typical data manager responsibilities, the other is the actual interview panel which will fire off questions based on scenarios. Overall, the interview went smoothly.

Question 1
What would you do if you answered a call from a patient?
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at University College London Hospitals (London, England) in July 2015
Interview
I was interview by 2 women (one of them was the head of the CTU and the other was a Senior Data Manager). I got asked questions about my background, why I would like to work there etc. I was also given a scenario about what I would do if a patient in a trial was ill and trying to get hold of a research nurse who went to the toilet. The panel were lovely and unfortunately I didn't get the job (not surprised recent uni grad with no data management experience whatsoever vs people who have been doing the job for years). Really nice department and also had to do a test there.
