Standard academic job process. I had an informal chat with the head of the lab, and they arranged for me to visit the campus and give a seminar talk for the department. I then had one-on-one mini-interviews with 5-6 people PhD students, postdocs and two faculty members. Each interview lasted about 1 hour. No formal panel interview. Offer made after my visit.

Got invited for an interview after an informal inquiry for a position. The administrative assistant arrange travels and accommodation. She received me on the they of the interview and confirmend the interview procedure. I gave a presentation on previous work and proposed project / Q&A. Panel interview with 3 group members, followed by 1-1 with PI, followed by lab tour.
