I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at University of Cambridge (Cambridge, England) in Jan 2016
Interview
The process took two weeks. There are two interviewers. They were friendly generally. And they dress casually but interviewees may be supposed to wear suits. The interview was not long. They would ask more about the research you have done and will be doing.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The questions are not hard if you are well prepared. Like why this Mphil program? What do you know about the field?
The Cambridge interview process typically involves several stages, including academic interviews, problem-solving discussions, and personal statement reviews. It is designed to assess intellectual curiosity, analytical reasoning, communication ability, and subject-specific understanding.
General motivational and fit chat. I think most of the candidate selection was done based on the submitted CVs, motivational letters and references. No technical questions or discussions during the actual interview.
It was an intellectually stimulating interview with many of questions relevant to the course content. Interviewer was very kind. Asked follow up questions. Relevant to the degree. Can be a little challenging towards the end but overall manageable.
