I applied online. I interviewed at University of Chicago in May 2026
Interview
The interview process included three rounds of interviews. The first two were via Zoom, and the final round included a campus visit where I met with six individuals over three hours. After the last round, I was asked to complete a writing exercise and submit it by the end of the week. A week after the on-campus visit, I contacted the hiring manager for a follow-up meeting as I had a few more questions. This is when I began experiencing a lack of responsiveness. A month after the interview, I contacted the hiring manager again to see if there were any updates, but did not receive a response. Finally, I was sent a generic email from UChicago's talent acquisition, informing me that my application would no longer be moving forward. The lack of responsiveness is something I've seen other interview candidates of UChicago mention, which is a shame given their academic reputation as a top ten school in the nation. I would just warn other candidates to be mindful of how much time you choose to invest in their interview process given how candidates are treated.
