Step 1 and step 2 were panel interviews with the search committee. I received the questions for the second interview ahead of time. Step 3 was an in-person interview for about an hour with the hiring manager and another director.

Question 1
How does this role fit into your projected career journey?
While I would love to work with the University of Denver, and this experience did not make me think less of the Communications Department, I felt as a candidate I was disrespected and treated poorly during the process.
The initial "interview" was a form limited to 200 characters max to answer complex questions. The next step was a practice assignment, which I was given less than 48 hours to do. As I received this assignment during the work week, I was extremely limited in my time to complete it which was very stressful and left little room for completing the assignment to the best of my abilities. At the time the assignment was sent I also received a link to schedule an interview, but the last possible time slot was three days after the initial email, meaning in less than 3 days I was required to do the assignment and the interview. This was all extremely stressful and required a decent amount of time investment, during a busy work week.
Despite the time investment and speaking with multiple members of the team, I was then sent a generic rejection. This type of non-personal rejection is something I would expect to receive had my application not even moved onto the first round, not after completing two interviews and an assignment. This generic rejection felt deeply disrespectful considering the time I dedicated to the interview process.
