I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at University of Edinburgh (Edinburgh, Scotland) in Mar 2011
Interview
The application would be submitted and they would tell you if they will call you for an interview or not within a week. The staff were really keen on having someone like-minded who would be able to both work and be committed to their studies. The emphasis is that you should be handling your studies well and also be able to take on other tasks.
