Don't Bother: I was interviewed by a recruiter at first and immediately liked her. The company seemed amazing, the culture described on the website was great and the pay and benefits sounded great too.
BUT I then interviewed with the person who I would report to. I had done a ton of research and prep and thought they would be amazing to work with. I logged onto our call early. The manager was late and called me instead of doing a video chat. There was a ton of background noise because they were not in a quiet place and the connection was terrible due to the person's headset. The manager kept muting themselves because of the other noise in their house, so I wasn't getting reactions and felt like they weren't even paying attention. They didn't bother asking any questions that were different than the screener and I felt like they were distracted and unprepared. When they asked if I liked working at a start-up I said, "yes!" (why would I apply to start-ups otherwise?) and they LAUGHED bc they clearly don't like their own job. I haven't heard a single word since and was GHOSTED just like another applicant. I would have loved this job if they were more organized and professional, but would not consider it now.
