A long process. Had an initial call with an internal recruiter for a bout 20 minutes to talk about my experience and motivations. Then had a task where I had 48 hours to produce a cold email and 3 prospects. After passing this I moved onto an interview with the BDA manager, this was relatively relaxed and he was lovely. Just focused on why I wanted the job, questions about my experience and questions about the product/company. In this interview I had a live task, where I replied to an objection in a reply to my initial cold email task (I had 10 minute timer).
After this I had my in person interview with the UK and Germany director. This was a lot more formal and involved a cold call role play where I got feedback and had to implement it.
From the questions asked I had to know more about the financial industry than anticipated - e.g. in the cold call I was asked about the contents of the financial decks produced by ‘Delores’. My feedback was I should have done more research on the product/company themselves. After receiving this simile feedback in my interview with the BDA manager I came prepared to the in person one and felt very confident in what Upslide do, their client success stories and solution they provide. From experience I knew more about this product than I had others I was interviewing for as the seemed quite picky about the knowledge. Perhaps knowledge outside of the what the website provides was probably what they were looking for, or maybe a better memorisation from me, which is a shame because I don’t feel like recall provided accurate representation.
Ultimately, not the right fit for me, but the team seemed lovely and would recommend anyone interviewing to really nail the product, company and industry like the back of your hand.
