I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Utah State University
Interview
We set up a time to meet 1 on 1. Whenever was most convenient for me. When we met, she gave me her full attention and she had the most positive attitude I've ever seen anyone have. She asked me various questions about myself; what I was studying, why would I be a good fit for the SI program, what my hobbies are, etc. Then I was asked to give her an example of how I teach. Luckily I knew this was coming and I prepared a 10 minute lesson over Powerpoint about the moons of Jupiter. She seemed very pleased with me. I got the job a few days later.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Could you show me a bit of your note taking? I want to see how well you take notes.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Utah State University (Logan, UT) in Sept 2011
Interview
I spoke with the student Program Assistant in his office in a mildly tense one-on-one setting. However, because the individual who fills this position changes annually, each interview process may change depending on whomever it may be. Overall, the program assistant was cordial and reminded me that I had no reason to be nervous--many student interviewees apparently are nervous in that setting due to the nature of the Interview Question listed below.

Question 1
I was asked to create a sample lesson based on the academic discipline for which I was applying, which was sociology, and then teach the lesson to the interviewer as if he were my class. I was given five minutes to prepare and allowed to use a sheet of notebook paper in lieu of a dry-erase board.
