I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at VIPKid (Tampa, FL) in June 2016
Interview
I applied for a job with VIPKID and received an email immediately to schedule an interview. The day of the interview I had technical issues due to a tropical storm that hit my area. Fortunately I was able to fix the issues and move forward for my interview. I did review the materials they had given me and watched the youtube videos of other Vipkid teacher. I made sure to match all of their expectations in an ESL Vipkid teacher.
At the end of my interview, they offered me a salary, I requested to negotiate and the interviewer told me that I should get an email within 24 hours. It has been 48 hours and haven't received any word from them, so I logged on to their website to find a message saying that although my interview was very good and I am good candidate, they have moved on to other candidates.
This was very poor communication and false statements on their part. I find it to be a waste of my time and effort. I do not like how they do business. If any company decides not to take you on, then they should not be offering a salary let alone try to negotiate one. Let alone Vipkid did not notify me like they said they would nor did they provide any reason or feedback for randomly deciding to move on to other candidates and drop my application altogether. Very poor work in doing business and hiring process.
Dear candidate, thank you for your feedback. Making a salary offer prior to offering a job to the candidate is definitely not our protocol. We will investigate and fix this issue. If you would feedback on your interview process, feel free to reach out at teachvip@vipkid.com.cn. Our system sends out automatic emails, but we have staff answering more specific questions our candidates have.

I interviewed at VIPKid (London, England)
Interview
Got hired as a British speaking then cancelled as not from America which I disclosed at the first interview which I think was silly and unprofessional at the time it was during covid when this happpened.
Very lenghthy interview process, but the interviewers were nice and helpful. There were several steps to the process and it was pretty involved. I had to prepare a lesson beforehand
It was easy an straightforward. 1 interview and 2 mock classes to pass. They offer a contract for a year with option to renew after 1st contract is over. Overall the process last for about 2 weeks from the time you apply unless you are waitlisted.
