Had initial interview in early February with an internal recruiter. The Interview went well and was told to expect a second round. A few weeks went by, and I had reached out multiple times with no response as to an update from the recruiter before finally scheduling interview with the hiring manager. Had this interview the beginning of March.
Interview with the hiring manager was a video interview, where the hiring manager was late. That interview went well and talked about a follow up shortly after.
After not hearing back from either the hiring manager or the recruiter for a week I reached out to both of them and got no response. Trying this a few more times I finally heard back 3 weeks later to schedule a series of video interviews. Which occurred mid April.
I then interviewed with 7 people through video interviews split into 2 time blocks, 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon, for 3 1/2 hours meeting with the entire team. I again felt interviews went well and awaited the next round.
A week went by and I hadn’t heard anything positive or negative and again reached out to the recruiter. I got a response saying that they were still working with the team and would get back to me by the end of the week. A week later still no response. I reached out again and was given a form response of we are going with a different candidate and thank you for your time. Please look at our job boards for other open positions.
For an interview process that took 3 months with the only feedback coming after multiple attempts to contact the recruiter you would think that you would get back more than a form letter to thank you for all the time that was dedicated to the interview process.
I understand that the interview process can take some time, but to have to repeatedly contact the recruiter for an update and to never hear back really is unprofessional as it puts a bad taste in a candidates mouth and wastes both theirs and the company’s time.
