Polite. On-time. Shared good information. Transparent about the company and product challenges and competition. Questions were unstructured. Felt like the interviewer wasn't well prepared so figured it is better to open up to the candidate to ask most of the questions. They were not sure what they wanted in a PM.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Vanta
Interview
Was initially contacted by the recruiter for the role and passed the recruiter screen and hiring manger interviewer. After the cross-functional interview (3 more interviews), I reached out to the recruiter as I hadn’t heard anything for a few days. I was told the feedback had been positive and they were getting some things in order before the next round. I was then contacted by the recruiter again and told the role was being re-orged, and that I wasn’t being put through to the final because I hadn’t shown a particular skill strongly enough, which was important to the new hiring manager. The recruiter thought it might have been the interview process and suggested potentially meeting with the new hiring manager… then the recruiter ghosted me. For all the talk about Vanta’s culture and principles, this was one of the more unprofessional interview processes I’ve been through.
