      Proposal Writer Interview

      15 June 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Vantage Labs in Jan 2012

      Interview

Interviewing with this company was a long process. First, a scheduled phone interview with HR. This individual asked a lot of questions during 40 minutes, but did not seem to listen to answers. One question -- tell me something that you would never tell anyone else -- was annoying and unprofessional. Also, had 2+ hour online assessment before face to face consisting of IQ test and personality test. Later, I had face to face with hiring manager and several other staffers. They seemed like an intelligent, capable, and easy to work with group, however, they kept popping in and out of this room where I was seated. Also had another IQ test, and was asked to edit several writing samples. At end of session which lasted about 3+ hours, I was told that more candidates were being interviewed, and a decision about hiring would take another 5 weeks. When I contacted them at end of that time, they said that higher-ups were making a decision that would affect this hiring decision, and to check again in a couple of weeks. Overall, whole process was long and unprofessional. Not sure what they were looking for in a candidate. Felt that they were going through motions, and not really hiring anyone.
