The interview process has two parts. First, you fill out an online application on their website that asks you for your contact information, education history, and previous test scores. Second, you complete an online interview in which you answer 4-5 pre-recorded questions. You have two tries to answer each question (your response gets recorded and submitted to the company). Once you move on to the next question, you cannot go back.

Question 1
What were you previous test scores?
Tell us about yourself.
Previous tutoring experience.
What age groups would you be able to tutor and why?
Give examples on how you would tutor a certain subject/age group (based on which subjects you agreed to tutor).
You are sent a link to an online video interview. They ask you about previous tutoring experience and the last question was asking you to do a mock-tutoring session. It's very awkward because you have to make up what you want to teach on the spot, but you get unlimited time to think of responses.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Varsity Tutors (University Park, MD) in Aug 2025
Interview
AI Interview, very easy. Asked very basic question's regarding experience, motivation, etc. I’m a freshman student in UMD and so I haven’t been to many job interviews, but this was genuinely easy.
