Interview
You’d think you’re applying for an astronaut job at NASA by the length of this interview process. But that’s just a Data Scientist interview at a random firm in Orlando.
Here’s a breakdown of the process:
1. A round with HR.
2. A Zoom call with the second-in-command on the Data Science team.
3. A take-home project that’s not complicated but requires a couple of hours of effort.
4. An in-person round, which includes an intelligence test (?), an interview with the Lead Data Scientist and the Data Scientist from round 2, and open-ended challenge questions at a whiteboard.
5. A Zoom call with three other team members.
6. An interview with the president.
After step 5, I was abruptly ghosted by my recruiter. He didn’t bother to update me after being so responsive before.

Interview
I really loved the company, every interaction with them, and all the research I did into them, which was a lot. It just really seems like a great company. That said, I was extremely disappointed in the way the interview process concluded. After 3 interviews, one of them in person, I took the test and I thought, had a great conversation with the people who would be my new bosses. I completely know what i did wrong in that interview I think, but i never heard back whatsoever. I took pto to get there, got a 100 dollar parking ticket that day, and was willing to absolutely throw myself into that job, and I wasn't even worth a quick, "we went with someone else". I messaged after about a week, and they said they'd have a decision soon, then I messaged again about a week later, nothing. Messaged once more, just to say thank you for the opportunity and that i was really impressed/ liked them. Still no reply. This, and the whole not getting the job thing, sowered what was otherwise a great interview experience.
