      ISO Project Manager Interview

      14 Sept 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Verisk (New York, NY) in Sept 2022

      Interview

The whole process was a complete waste of time. First was contacted by a recruiter who asked for availability, after I provided it, he didn’t respond, then called me and left a message to call him back anytime. I called back, left a voice mail, and never heard back. A week or so after another recruiter contacted me to answer a few questions over email. Sent her the answers, waited a week and a half more, was pushed to next round which was a prerecorded video interview. 8 questions and 2 writing prompts timed. I waited a week+ more, when suddenly the recruiter started chasing me, sending email and leaving a voice mail in a thick russian accent, that they really need to know my salary expectations. There was no phone screen to go over anything before that. I called her back and the call was a huge turn off. It was very unprofessional, she was abrasive/rude. Told her that usually there’s a phone screen to go over this, details of the role, responsibilities, company policies etc. she asked me angrily who does that, what companies are doing this, this is their process, and they don’t do it like that. Had to ask multiple times the same thing, work from home policy, r&r etc. Most questions were either unanswered or the information provided was not true. Was pushed to next round and received a text less than an hour after the invitation to confirm attendance, not sure if this is standard procedure. It was video interview with a director (1hr) and program manager/ project manager (45min). The interview with the team was the only part that was ok. Received up to date information on WFH policy, it was completely different from what she had told me, team, projects etc. Asked for contacts to send thank you note, got a generic email rejection instead: “I enjoyed our conversation”, even though there was not really a conversation, and there was nothing to enjoy about it. Feedback was not provided(Instead I received a rejection for position I didn't apply for). This went for five (5) weeks total. Had zero expectations, was still disappointed.
