I applied online. I interviewed at Vienna Biocenter Core Facilities
Interview
The interview was polite and the process was well defined but there was a positive bias towards females. Even though, I share the exact same and may be higher research experience and academic achievements. I understand it is nice to promote women's rights in science, but I didn't expect the selection would be very political.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Do you think your cultural background might impact your work progress?
2 rounds:
In the first meet the team, talk to each team member and answer their questions.
In the second round talk to the head of the facility and the director.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Vienna Biocenter Core Facilities (Vienna) in July 2019
Interview
First you need to pass a panel interview where you present the paper chosen by the committee and discuss it with them and then they ask you about your previous research. If you are successful you have the opportunity to go on and talk with PIs to find a match. The PIs present their research on a poster-based scheme the first day (before the panel interview) and you can approach them and talk about their research, then you turn in a list with their names and if you were successful at the panel interview you have the chance to talk with them in a more informal way.
