The interview had three rounds. The first round was a phone screening with the department's HR manager, the hiring manager, and another committee member. The second round was an interview with the full committee. The third round was with a senior level manager. The interviews went very well and because they were hiring 3 people, I anticipated that I had a good chance when I made it to the final round. They told me they hired someone else (singular), but urged me to check back with them as they were hoping to add more people in the future. It was a strange response.
