I applied online. I interviewed at Viridien (Calgary, AB) in July 2017
Interview
1st round with one lady from HR; 2nd round with the same lady plus two managers on data processing; 3rd round on-site with the previous three plus three more processing seniors I guess. I feel the situation described for this CGG at Calgary office in the review section very true. In the data processing department, I only saw two non-Chinese and all the managers are Chinese. People working there are friendly but the interview did not reflect their level because there are no technical questions at all. I was thinking it would be similar to the Houston office, there would be brain teaser and math and logical problem solving but there are non of these. One employer even tended to ask person question like the age and marrital status which did not make me feel good. The other questions are very general to your experience, interest, education history and so on. Nothing really deep and interesting. The 3rd round is exactly the same as the 2nd round, which surprised me just with more people sitting there and looking at me. They friendly brought me to lunch and asked taxi to send me to the airport. I believe as long as you can adjust the Chinese relationship, favorism and slight working over time, a permanent job over there shouldn't feel uncomfortable.

Interview
I took an phone interview in January 2019. The recruiter just asked me three high school math problems. If you’re well prepared, you won’t be worried about it.
