      Sales Executive Interview

      19 July 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Phoenix, AZ
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Vixxo (Phoenix, AZ) in Feb 2020

      Interview

I was not looking for a job when I was contacted by a recruiter on behalf of Vixxo. The comp was attractive. So, I thought I would at least hear them out. After a phone interview that by all indications went well, they asked me to fly across the country to meet with the leadership team in Phoenix. But when I arrived for the in-person for my confirmed interview, it was like they had forgotten I was coming. I wasn't expecting a parade, but there was very little in terms of a greeting. They were generally disorganized. There appeared to be no preparation. They provided no plan, no schedule, no agenda, etc... Nothing. Several of the people with whom I met were clearly were not expecting to have to do an interview that day. I spent most of the day waiting for people to find time to see me, and generally found the whole experience very weird and awkward. If I'm being completely honest, it felt disrespectful, and if I had not flown across the continent to get there, I would have bailed on the whole thing. The interviews themselves were not that bad, except for the obvious lack of preparation. Most were polite and professional with the exception of the CSMO to whom I would have reported. He told me withing 60 seconds of meeting him that he was ex-F500 guy from well outside the industry, and he was astonishingly arrogant. The best part of the whole interview was the end. To rub salt in the wound, it took over a month and several calls to get reimbursed for my travel costs. I had to forward them a copy of "their" email asking me to fly to Phoenix for the interview and committing to reimburse me for the cost.
