      Senior Engineer Interview

I interviewed at Voltage Park (Minneapolis, MN)

      Interview

I went through a thorough interview process at Voltage Park — eight conversations over the course of a month with cross-functional team members. Everyone I spoke with was thoughtful and positive, which made me genuinely excited about the opportunity. After receiving and accepting an offer, I completed the standard onboarding paperwork, formally resigned from my previous role, and prepared to start. Up to that point, communication had confirmed I passed the background check. However, on my scheduled start date, the offer was rescinded with no explanation. A day before my start date, I was asked for additional documentation that had not been mentioned previously nor requested of me by any previous employers as a senior level employee. Despite following up several times, I never received a response. While the interview experience was positive, the abrupt reversal and lack of communication left me feeling blindsided. It gave the impression that internal misalignment or late-stage decisions could override basic candidate care — even after a signed offer.

We value transparency and appreciate the opportunity to respond to your review. You’ve shared that we rescinded an offer for an engineering role; however, we would like to confirm that Voltage Park has not rescinded an engineering offer to date. Please note that employment is dependent on successful completion of a criminal background check, employment verification, and reference check. In very rare cases, if significant discrepancies or required clearances are not met, we unfortunately may not be able to move forward. Overall we remain committed to treating all candidates with respect and ensuring a fair and open hiring process.
