      Corporate Communications Assistant Interview

      6 Mar 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart Global Tech in Feb 2025

      Interview

Unclear Communication, Pressure to Sign, and Unrealistic Expectat My experience with the hiring process started well but quickly went downhill after receiving the offer. Despite the offer letter stating I had five days to review, I was pressured to sign within 47 minutes. The offer letter itself was only one page with vague, generic information. When I requested a copy of the contract or at least additional details—such as the number of working hours—they refused and only offered a meeting instead. There was also inconsistency with the job title. On LinkedIn, the position was listed as Corporate Communications Assistant, but below that, it said Communications Analyst 1. When I received the offer, it had been changed to Communications Analyst 2 without any explanation, and I only discovered this by reading the document. The offer letter mentioned that working hours could be adjusted based on company needs and the countries I would provide service to, which likely explains why they refused to specify a schedule in writing. During the first interview, they mentioned a 10-hour workday from Monday to Thursday and 7 hours on Fridays, but this was never formally documented. Additionally, I would have been the only person in that role in the entire country—with no graphic designer or anyone else for support. When I raised concerns, they brushed it off, saying I should be able to "handle it" since there were only a few hundred employees. For a company with such unclear practices, their expectations felt completely unrealistic. Beyond the vague offer and lack of support, their hiring process was unnecessarily demanding. They required not only recommendation letters but also sent 2 emaild where my references had to complete a detailed evaluation—an over-the-top request considering how disorganized and untrustworthy they seemed. The interview process was also quite lengthy, which felt excessive given how shady the whole situation turned out to be. The workload seemed heavy, the pay was low, and the hours appeared to be long. The lack of transparency, rushed decisions, and unclear job scope raised several red flags. The entire process came across as exploitative and delusional. I would not recommend this company unless you are in urgent need of a job.
