HR told me that they are planning to diversify their manila software team to hire more female engineers. During the technical interview, two male engineers interviewed me. What really turned me off was how one of the engineers asked me why I'm not smiling and I should smile more. Maybe I was overthinking but that was a bit inappropriate and borderline sexist, I have never heard a male peer being asked during an interview that he should smile more. I have not heard from them after the interview and did not even bother to give their applicant an update nor even a letter of rejection if I was not accepted.
