I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at WebMD Health (Atlanta, GA) in June 2018
Interview
Got a call for a face-to-face interview. Went in and was supposed to interview with 3 people, two were late one was not available. A day later I got a call from the "recruiter" who sent me the initial email advising that they would like me to come back in, I asked if she could tell me the salary range for the opportunity and she stated that they normally don't discuss that until an offer was made. When I told her that I had never had a recruiter not be able to advise of a salary range prior to an offer being made, the person then admitted that she was not really a recruiter but was "helping them out". She also could not answer other questions relevant to the office location like if the company paid for parking. During the second interview the person I spoke with was the most honest person during the entire process as she informed me that Web MD had been purchased a year prior by a private company. They had a few layoffs but there was an agreement in place that they would not change employee benefits for 1 year, which was almost up so benefits could potentially change/layoffs could happen. I really appreciated her honesty which was a refreshing. I never heard back from the company one way or the other which was fine by me as the lack of professionalism displayed by them made it crystal clear that this was not a company culture that I wanted to be a part of.
Phone interview w/in house recruiter. This was followed by in-persons with direct report, engineer and design teams. The last was an in-person with the hiring manager. I received a call from the recruiter a day after my last interview.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe how a calendar notification feature would work to enhance the user experience of an Rx app.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at WebMD Health (New York, NY)
Interview
1. Initial call w/(internal) recruiter.
2. In-person interview w/hiring manager & members of design & engineering and data teams.
3. In-person interview w/department head.
The interview process was average in difficulty. Truly more conversational; looking for cultural-fit.
Overall a very long process. Eight or nine rounds of interview including an exercise where I created a presentation for the team to review.
I just wish the process was faster and more straightforward.
