Interview
I contacted the PI directly and went in person to chat with them and numerous people in the lab. After all the one-on-ones (lasted about 5 hours total) they talked to my references and I received an offer through HR. They asked me about my background, future goals/interests, and previous projects.

5 rounds of Interview, I was called in too many times. But I was offered the job soon after, all that ends well is well I guess. It was a very critical process, lots of questions. I think it's rare, my current boss is an extremely renowned professor.
