I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Western Express (Nashville, TN) in Jan 2012
Interview
Called about the ad in the paper. Hired over the phone, pending background check and drug test. 4 days later went to orientation in Nashville, Tn. Orientation lasted for 2 days. Western paid for the hotel expense, provided shuttle transportation to and from + one meal per day. Stayed in the hotel for the following 16 days, paid for by Western, waiting on another driver to quit so I could get his/her truck as there were no trucks available. The recruiter was nice but aggressive about me waiting around until I was issued a truck. The entire office was focused only on getting new drivers hired so they could wait on existing drivers to quit so they have a pool of unemployed, homeless wouldbe drivers in waiting to replace drivers who are quitting. Most drivers are disgrundled for a variety of reason from poor insurance, to poor home time to low pay and having to work with homeless truck drivers.
They didn’t interview just seems you to orientation and then a road test and drug test. Then you go with a trainer, then go solo in 2 weeks. Get your experience here and then leave for a better company.

Interview
I completed an over the phone interview with a recruiter for Western Express. Then the recruiter asked for my information so she could conduct a background check. Once the background check was done the recruiter gave me a link to a portal where I completed the document submission (drug and alcohol consortium, license, medical certificate, etc).
Over the phones and a few more hours and a half our family and I got the order of my agents and the kids and my wife has been complete with me and the rest in a hour and 20m to get the truck and I can get a new list please send me the link to.
