Seems like a decent place to work but they don’t exactly come across like they know what they’re looking for. They delete-repost-promote the same 4-5 jobs nearly every week to bring in new pools of applicants constantly. After over a month of questionnaires, tests, video interviews, etc. they informed me that they went with another candidate…only to repost the job. I must’ve spent close to 10 hours on this whole process. Obviously at that point I became invested in the company, thought things were going well, and wanted to learn. All in all, be prepared to spend a long time researching their site (for tone & formatting), putting together work samples, and completing multiple assessments…for free. For a generic rejection email.

The interview process was long—I applied in late October and was hired in mid-December—but it was thorough. It included an initial interview with the HR manager, a couple of personality and strength tests, work samples (which took maybe 60-90 mins), a second interview with the other managing editor and director, and a final interview with the founders. Despite the long process, at no point did I ever feel that my time was being wasted I enjoyed the opportunity to meet potential colleagues at different levels and it gave me a good idea of the type of company culture I'd be joining. It's a company where people stick around—there isn't high turnover, and I have to think that the thorough interview process is one major reason for that.
