      Human Resources Interview

      17 June 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Seattle, WA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Weyerhaeuser (Seattle, WA) in July 2018

      Interview

Initial interview via phone with a manager was preceded by a SparkHire video conference interview, in which you are videotaping yourself, responding to some generic questions, like, "how do you manage multiple simultaneous priorities." Next came a Skype interview (audio only) with a hiring manager and questions were more behavioral and specific to the role. I was invited to an on-site interview in Seattle from there, which involved a panel interview of the manager and handful of other colleagues in the role for which I was interviewing. The questions were scripted and they took turns asking them like they were passing around a hot potato. Two of the people interviewing me acted like they didn't care to be there, and you got the impression they weren't really good at their jobs and the workload expectations put on them were unrealistic and they did the bare minimum since legitimate effort on their behalf was futile. One of the interviewers was shopping on-line both interactions I had with them. I left the interview thinking, "I don't know that I want to work here."

      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Weyerhaeuser (Seattle, WA) in June 2023

      Interview

The following occurred over roughly 10 weeks. 1. Phone interview with a fantastic recruiter - I was excited and looked forward to the next steps 2. Scheduled for and completed a recorded video-based multi-question 'interview' 3. Asked to submit a portfolio 4. Recruiter connect 5. Scheduled for and completed 6 people one-hour panel interview 6. Phone call with the hiring manager 7. Check in with the recruiter 8. The recruiter and hiring manager both went MIA for 2+ weeks 9. Recruiter check-in call 10. Onsite interview scheduled for one hour but it lasted for two hours – hiring manager asked a bunch of long, meandering questions that were vaguely related to the role 11. The hiring manager then gave me another assignment to complete with a 4-day turnaround expectation
