Phone interview followed by in-person interview.
Received a bcc email after the phone interview letting me know that I had not been selected for an interview. This was followed later in the day by the hiring manager inviting me in for an in-person interview. (A little disorganized, but these things happen.)
At the in-person interview, I was informed that the role had changed from a full-time position to a 8(ish)-month contract. The scope of the role had also changed, and the hiring manager described the role as it now existed. It would have been helpful to know about this before the interview, so as not to waste anyone's time. As it happened, I was still interested in the new role and its terms. But if I had not been, I would have spent time traveling to and from, preparing for, and having this interview.
After this, neither of the two people I met with bothered to give me an update or let me know that the position had been filled. I get what working in a nonprofit is like, but I still offer and expect to receive a basic level of professional courtesy. This was a disappointing experience.
