Interview
I recently graduated from FIDM and wanted to onboard with a smaller boutique where I could grow. Heard of William B from a friend who shops there. Checked out the website and appreciated what I read. I delivered my resume personally to the Store Manager at Century City. The environment in the store was upbeat and the Store Manager seemed happy to be there. She asked me a few basic questions on the spot and we hit it off immediately. In fact, she asked if I had five minutes and I did, so we went outside to chat. A couple of days later, I met with her and a corporate representative and had a formal interview which was awesome! The interview was great because I was able to be conversational and discuss my background and goals to eager listeners. They gave me the company history and discussed expectations and plans, but most importantly, they themselves seemed excited to work for William B.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The manager asked me what my philosophy was about selling. This opened up a discussion about approach, creativity, what it takes to be effective at selling. Never had someone ask me that, but it did initiate a great conversation about skills, talent, mindset when it comes to selling. I actually received good takeaway from that segment of the interview.
