Williams Automotive Group interview questions

This one will go down in the history books. Applied on line, and was invited in to meet with one of the sales managers. I have a vast amount of experience, and I was aware the position would be a big demotion. My thoughts were I would take a lesser position and work my way back up the ladder. The manager I was scheduled to meet was around 45 min late. I was shuffled to various other managers, some had my resume some seemed annoyed with a verbal acumen solely of grunts and hand gestures. Eventually original manager, showed up to let me everyone would need to speak with me. ( no problem ) One particular manager went through my resume with a critical eye, letting me know I was over qualified and made it known they did not hire managers from the outside, all the while admitting most of the managers were in fact hired from the outside. He went further to let me know if I wanted to move up it would be impossible as I would be last in line behind many qualified men. To summarize, even tho I was more qualified with more education and more experience and tenure, I was not qualified to lead, or even try. He closed his portion by doing some bible quoting. I will not get into my religious preferences, however not everyone is Christian. Original manager comes out and begins asking questions about my spouse, I smiled and asked if I also needed a husband to take an entry level Job? Manger said until he knew who my husband was and his story he couldn’t proceed. He qualified his statement by suggesting he was simply protecting the company. I began giggling, I was at a loss for words? The Bible? The implication I was not qualified to manage, and I needed to disclose my spouse . In case anyone wonders, this is why females are not adequately represented in the car industry, and certainly not in leadership positions. We can’t even get a standard interview.

Well I walk in to the facility and spoke with the desk manager. He take to his office with the BDC director and make me a lot questions. About my previous work experience etc ...
