I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at WillowTree (Charlottesville, VA) in May 2019
Interview
The whole process took about 1.5 months, but could have been shorter had my scheduling worked out, and if I was local.
I applied online using the website which was incredibly easy and within a few days I was contacted by a recruiter. She and I had a 1:1 call to discuss the position and she was able to do some initial screening and then we discussed scheduling a remote video interview with another designer. I scheduled that a week or so later and was able to talk in depth about projects with a Senior Product Designer.
Shortly after that, I was issued a design skills task/test with a brief from the VP of Design that I completed over a weekend. I ended up getting some great feedback from that test and was given the opportunity to make updates. From there, we scheduled an in-person full-day interview.
The in-person interview was about 6 hours including a lunch with some team members and a short break. There was a series of exercises throughout the day with different team members ending on a presentation of my design test to a room of about 4 or 5 people.
Overall, it was an intense interview process but I thought it was nice that so many people were willing to take the time to meet with me and ultimately it ended in an offer 24 hours after the in-person so it was worth it!

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at WillowTree in Feb 2024
Interview
I didn't get to the interview stage and didn't make it through the resume screen but the approach of HR/ recruitment was nice. Cool company from the outside though and would be pleasant if the opportunity to apply pops up again.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at WillowTree (Columbus, OH) in Mar 2022
Interview
15 min phone screen with recruiter (amazing communicator and attitude, very honest and comfortable to engage with)
1 hour portfolio presentation with design director (interviewer was different than who I was originally scheduled with, not evident they had much context or understanding of my background or had even viewed my portfolio beforehand, their engagement/response with my presentation and design decision questions was limited, some dismissal for including a project that wasn't for a billable client)
30 minute design challenge instructions with VP design director (incredibly gracious and humble, collaborative and encouraging, much better experience than design director and obvious to me why they would have more authority and responsibility in the company than regional design director)
