I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Windsurf (Mountain View, CA) in Sept 2024
Interview
1. 1 hour OA: one hard problem
2. Round 1 online interview: 1 leetcode medium problem
3. Onsite: 2 coding (1 hard, 1 medium) + 1 python project implementation. Codeium will cover the flight and hotel fees.
Got rejected because of one onsite coding problem.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Onsite python project: implement a mini data pipeline using pandas
I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Windsurf (Mountain View, CA) in May 2025
Interview
OA - leetcode hard in 1 hour, passed all test cases
Virtual Coding Interview - Leetcode medium, 1 hour, went well
Onsite - 2 leetcode hards and a project implementation that is 1.5 hours. Got the optimal solution for one of the coding questions, the other one I got a partially optimal, but correct solution. Immediately rejected me on the spot without giving me the project implementation. Made me code on a laptop even though they flew me out to Mountain View so idk why they called me in person if they're going to just make me code on a laptop on CoderPad. Felt disrespected that they just rejected me on the spot instead of at least taking a holistic decision, or at least conduct the onsite online if you're going to simply make me code on a laptop instead of doing a whiteboard session.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Windsurf in Feb 2025
Interview
Well laid out - first an online assessment, then a virtual coding exercise, then onsite, then final interview. Seemed to want high-quality candidates because the OA was a leetcode hard.
