The first round was an initial screening with the recruiter and I really enjoyed speaking with her. I took the time to complete the technical portion of the interview even before it was assigned to me to be proactive, and even with that, I really did not enjoy the conversation I had with the hiring manager. For one, I was told I would be speaking with just the hiring manager, but one of the engineers joined the call by surprise. I didn't mind that but I would've appreciated them letting me knowing who's actually going to be on the call beforehand. The hiring manager seemed to be uninterested in me the moment the conversation started. When I said I had already went through the quickstart guide, looked up what SAML was, had uploaded my project on GitHub, and studied other terminology on my own, she didn't bat an eye. With some of her questions it sounded like she was intentionally trying to stump me or get me to misspeak. As other reviews have mentioned, even if I got through that round, there were going to be several other rounds including a live round where they pretend they're the customer, referrals, and talking to the CEO.

Hiring manager reached out to me first then I spoke to Recruiter, back to the hiring manager. I really liked the hiring manager but there are a few things I was frustrated with. I think if a hiring manager reaches out to you first, they should be aware of your skills plus your limitations. I was also not aware of how arduous the hiring process would be. If I had gone all the way below would have been the process. 1. recruiter 2. Hiring manager 3. Take home test consisting of 2 parts. 2 emails and 1 question on just elaboration of how the code functions and then another one where you have to deploy an application after connecting SSO to it. 4. Then it would be live troubleshooting 5. Meeting with CEO 6. References That is quite a lot to ask for! If I had known this during the recruiter call, I wouldn't have spent my time interviewing. The reason I'm writing this is because when I had searched on glassdoor prior to see what the process would be like, I found nothing!!!
