The interview process was quick. Had a 30 minute phone call with the manager. Talked about my background, teaching experience, why I wanted the job. Received and accepted an offer the same day.

Question 1
Asked about my background and teaching experience.
I applied online. I interviewed at XanEdu Publishing (Grand Rapids, MI) in Feb 2020
Interview
VERY informal - running late, no HR rep, no agenda, & no list of who would be present for the interview. Clear from the quiet in the office and the last-minute feeling that department was understaffed & needed help. Abruptly handed off to sales VP for second half of interview, without org chart or explanation.
Didn't hear back from company after spending more than an hour onsite for interview, on short notice.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at XanEdu Publishing in Mar 2017
Interview
I applied through indeed.com and within 2 weeks I was contacted to schedule a phone interview with the national sales manager. Pretty standard background/experience questions. I then had to do another phone interview with another vp which was pretty redundant and I just answered the same questions.
After I passed that stage I was assigned a "territory project" which I worked 2 full business days on. I submitted that. I received an email that they wanted me to fly up the very next morning and meet with corporate. I had to pay for the ticket myself and it was very expensive given the short notice. I was promised that I would be reimbursed but did not receive a check until 6 weeks later for my expenses. *When you're job seeking $800 is a lot to pay out with less than 24 hours notice.
I walked into their corporate office and I just knew it wasn't going to work out. It was the most depressing and outdated office I've ever been in! Employees were shuffling around with fleece blankets wrapped around them because the heat doesn't work well in parts of the building?! My first impression was that no one looked happy to be there.
I met with 2 other higher ups, both of them were rude and condescending. I had many questions about the position and wanted to learn more but felt very uncomfortable around both of them.
I was disappointed because I was so excited about the position initially.
I hightailed it out of that sad bleak office.
I wished I'd paid more attention to the Glassdoor reviews of this place. They are very accurate.
