I applied online. I interviewed at YEO Messaging (London, England) in Jan 2026
Interview
I thought I'd type out a review of my recent job interview with Yeo Messaging as this section was empty on the company's Glassdoor page and there weren't many reviews when I checked out their page after I was invited for an interview. I was contacted by the CMO/co-founder at the company to set up an initial interview 3 weeks after I applied for the role. The interview was set up over Google Meet. I interviewed with two people at the company whose backgrounds were not very clear to me, and I can't recall if they introduced themselves properly during the initial phone call. I do recall knowing some details about one of the interviewers I spoke with based on reviewing the company's about section on their website beforehand, but other than that, there was minimal to no introduction from either of the interviewers or their respective roles at the company. I was asked about my experience working on projects in a part of the world that wasn't listed on my resume, and then I proceeded to explain that my experience was mostly based in the UK. Following this, there were several questions about whether I had used specific technologies like Jira and UIKit in my career. The company mentioned they were working on monetising some of their business-oriented features by targeting end-to-end consumers, and said the work involved refactoring large parts of the app to achieve this. Additional questions about whether or not I had exposure to specific technologies like web sockets and building SDKs. I was asked if I had experience refactoring apps since this was part of the role's duties. At the end of the interview, I was told that they were reviewing other applicants and that they move fast and I would be contacted after they finished speaking with other applicants. I got an email a few days later from one of my interviewers thanking me for my time and saying they didn't want to move forward with my application any further. I was asked if I had questions at the beginning of the interview process and at the end so there wasn't any shortage of opportunities for me to ask them questions if I had any.
