They do most of their hiring once a year, when they bring in their recruits for the training program. I turned in my application in June, and throughout July participated in a "fit-test" which is sort of an interview while you have to demonstrate your strength by doing certain tasks. I can't remember everything, but I had to drag a 170-lb dummy, move a giant tire, climb a ladder, and a few other things. It wasn't very hard. Then there's a panel interview, with like 6 or 7 of the top guys sitting on one side of a long meeting table, and you're on the other side. They take turns asking you questions and you just answer them honestly. I was so excited to be accepted into their program (I was notified by mail within the next couple of weeks. After that, there was a group of about 50 or less of us that were hired together, filled out paperwork, took photo ID pics, were issued PPE, and were trained together over the next several months.
